The Onomichi Channel |
My husband's hometown is Mukaishima, which is located across from
Onomichi. It belongs to Onomichi City.
It's the first island in Shimanami Kaido. There are 2 bridges between
Onomichi and Mukaishima, but the ferry is easier to take than bridges
to cross the Onomichi Channel.
The distance is 300ms and it takes only 4 minutes. The fare is 100yen
per person, and 10 yen per bicycle.
My husband used to ride this ferry to go to highschool with his bicycle
every day.
My mother-in-law used to tell me " I can't live in a place where I can't
see the sea every day." Now I got to understand her feeling.
I heard from my sister-in-law that the best place to take a photo of
Senkouji Temple is from Mukaishima.
Senkouji Temple is halfway up the mountain.
I saw a heron in the river flowing to Onomichi Channel.
It was the ebb tide at this time.
I watched the heron for a while.
At first he just stood there without any movement, and then
he began to walk quietly.
It seemed he thought that we didn't completely notice him.
" We can see you !"
I associate the White Heron Castle with his flying style.
But his walking style is very humorous, isn't it ?
