ターナー展 Turner from the Tate
I went to Kobe to see Tuner's exhibition which is organized by Tate.
There were more than 110 works that Turner painted.
I could feel a clear atmosphere in his pictures which sparkled
in the sunlight.
His father was running the barber shop in Covent Garden in London,
and was very proud of his son's pictures, so hung them on his shop' wall.
He sometimes sold his son's pictures cheaply to customers who wanted to buy them.
This is a picture which 漱石 wrote about in his book ぼっちゃん, so most
Japanese know Turner, but only his name.
I thought that our lives are limited, but these pictures are endless and
pass across time and space easily.

Wow! You know many things.
I might have heard of his name but I don't know him well.
Do you like oil painting?
When I was a little girl, my father painted at home
at his free time.
I wanted to touch his works but I couldn't.
My father said not to touch them.
When my elder daughter was a first year high school
student, she chose art class for elective classes.
She had to imitate one oil painting as homework
but she was busy and I helped her.
I really wantd to do oil painting.
It was more difficult than I had expected.
While I was reading your story, those memories
came up in my mind.
If I have time, I want to try oil paintings one more
How about you, tuyatuyawatako?
Ｉ've never painted in oils.
I'm not good at painting, I only like looking at them.
You like painting, don't you ?
Your father liked painting, you must take after him.
I hope you will enjoy painting again.
Thank you for continuous kind comment !
